Iran

The loosening of sanctions against Iran does not automatically mean that any goods can be brought into the country without due permission. Exporting companies are still strictly required not only to obtain specific permissions to bring dual-use goods into the country, but also comply with special procedures of foreign trade transactions. Other obligations include assessment of such goods’ compliance with the applicable rules or regulations and acquisition of particular certificates / licenses, depending on the type of the supplied equipment.

In general, all goods and products imported to Iran must meet the requirements and regulations of the Iranian National Standard Organisation (INSO) and Institute of Standard and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI).

For this purpose, INSO regularly publishes the list of goods that require acquisition of special permits, e.g.:

  • Boilers
  • Pressure vessels
  • Pipe and pipe connections
  • Components for the automotive industry (brakes, pumps, acceleration systems, etc.)
  • Gas equipment
  • Preheaters
  • Protective and safeguarding equipment

Special attention should be given to the certain equipment that cannot be tested in Iran. In this case a special conformity assessment (COI certificate - CertificateofInspection) has to be carried out.

ALPHA is an expert company in the engineering field that offers you the following services:

  • Technical consultancy for compliance with standards and laws
  • Equipment structuring
  • Evaluation and creation of regulatory documentation
  • Specialized translation of the documents into the Persian language
  • Pre-shipment control

China

China is currently one of the most attractive target countries for the export of products and equipment. However, the export processes to outside of the EU are still quite complicated, and therefore special import regulations must also be complied with when doing trade business with China. For example, the obligation about certification and marking accepted back in 2003 and the Chinese system of compulsory certification of products (CCC), which was supposed to produce a uniform standard for the import of the products subject to certification to China, all require that the manufacturers know these requirements in detail. The obligation and right under the CCC certification system are only assumed by and assigned to the manufacturers of, for example, electrical equipment (electrical engines, welding machines, etc.), safety fuses, rubber and latex products, and chemical products for construction industry (e.g., concrete and lacquer) and also the makers of automotive components. Besides, the CCC licensing criteria are prone to continuous change. For instance, the licensing criteria applicable to the makers of automotive components were gradually made more stringent since 2013.
All pieces of equipment operating under pressure and all hoisting appliances including personnel and cargo elevators, and also boilers, pressurized equipment, and safety relief valves must obtain the SQLO (SELO) licenses.

We possess in-depth knowledge regarding the CCC and other regulations effective in China in respect of certification and registration. Our employees will provide qualified and customer-oriented advice to you in order to conduct the certification of your products or equipment in a short-termed, economically profitable, and legally prescribed manner.
